Friends of the Wyoming Library Amazon Wish List

Thank you to everyone who has donated books or cash for this amazing project.  As they are sorting books out for the grade levels, they are still in need of some chapter books:
          * Basic chapter books for 1st & 2nd grade readers
          * 5th grade level chapter books (21 for boys, 8 girls)
          * 6th grade graphic novel books
          * Several 7th & 8th grade level chapter books.

The Friends of the Wyoming Public Library are in the midst of the 2025-26 Angel Book Program where we ask our community to donate enough books to give every student in grades Preschool-8th grade enrolled at Midland School District a book before Christmas break. We will accept any new books, cash, checks payable to Friends of the Wyoming Public Library or you can order from Amazon off of our Amazon wish list (link provided above). Donations are needed by Friday, December 5th. Books and monetary donations can be dropped off at the Wyoming Public library for your convenience. THANKS for caring Midland community and for sharing the love of reading!!!

About

Hello from the Library Director!

We would like to reach out to our communities to find out what sort of programming you would like to see offered at the Library.  We would like to offer programming to all ages: toddlers through our senior patrons.

We are hoping that you will reach out to us with ideas of how we can better serve our communities whether it be offering how to learn new crafts, technology, book clubs, special speakers, Jones County Conservationists, master gardeners, study tables, storybook hour, conversation hour etc.

Please feel free to share any thoughts you might have as to what you would like to see offered at the library.  My email is bvacek@wyoming.lib.ia.us or our main email is mylibrary@wyoming.lib.ia.us.

I'll leave you with this thought from Helen Hayes, nicknamed the "First Lady of the American Theatre":

"From your parents, you learn love and laughter and how to put one foot before the other.

But when books are opened, you discover you have wings!"
